About Us

The overall concept of Delaware Africa Caribbean Coalition started when a group of concerned men and women began to meet to explore ways of improving conditions of Africa in Diaspora residing in the state of Delaware

These visionaries included businessmen, industry leaders, community leaders and professionals

That led to the creation of DACC in January 2016 with the following agenda

To bring all Africans in Diaspora together under one umbrella towards advancing their interest in the State of Delaware and beyond
About Us

Since inception, the vision has materialized to be shared by so many members of Africa in Diaspora

Our first step towards achieving our goal involved collaborating with the state government to establish a commission for effective collaboration

The commission was created in April 2017 with the following mandates that form the core of our mission:

  • Provide the Governor, members of the General Assembly, and policymakers with recommendations required to promote the welfare and interests of all people of African descent who reside in the State
  • To work with various governmental agencies, business communities, and nonprofit organizations to meet the needs of people of Africa descent, including seeking funding from foundations and other sources to promote workforce and economic development of the community
  • To provide a platform for the promotion of the cultural and historical heritage of any people of African descent​
  • To facilitate the socioeconomic relationship between the African and Caribbean countries, citizens, and residents, and this State

Our Mission

The premise of DACC is to empower all people of African descent in the State of Delaware and beyond through Education, Economic Development, Cultural Diversity, Social Integration, and foster both business and public relationships between our different African and Caribbean countries of birth and our State of life Delaware and beyond.

Our Vision

  • To advance the interests of all people of African descent in the State of Delaware and beyond.
  • To empower all people of Africa Descent in the State of Delaware through Education, Economic Development, Cultural Diversity and Social Integration.
  • To network, connect, create awareness, open doors and drive positive change for all people of African descent in Delaware and beyond.
  • Charged with promoting the interests, culture and historical heritage, socio-economic relationships, and general welfare of  all people of African and Caribbean descent in the State of Delaware and beyond.
